Sean Morrison, DVM, Diplomate ACVS-SA

DVM, Founder

Dr. Morrison obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in 1994 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. He completed a one-year rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in 2002. He followed his passion for surgery and completed a surgical residency at Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists in 2006. Dr. Morrison became board certified with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2008. He moved to Greenville, SC, in the fall of 2008 to join Upstate Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Morrison founded Palmetto Veterinary Specialist, LLC to bring specialty surgery to your primary care hospital. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching college football, fishing, kayaking, hiking, and camping.

Dr. Keith

Keith Allen, MVB, MS, Diplomate ACVS-SA

DVM

Dr. Keith Allen was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and graduated from the Veterinary College, University College Dublin, in 1990. Following a brief period in small animal practice, he ventured to the United States to pursue an Internship at Michigan State University followed by a 3 year Small Animal Surgery Residency at Purdue University. Dr. Allen spent 4 years in a private surgical practice north of Indianapolis before joining Upstate Veterinary Specialists in Greenville SC in 1997 where he spent 25 years as a specialty surgeon and practice owner. He is experienced in all aspects of small animal surgery but his passion is small animal orthopedics. Dr. Allen is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Dr. Allen met his wife Lisa while at Purdue University. She is also a veterinarian and they have 2 children, Andrew 25, and Megan 21, who are pursuing careers in law and nursing, respectively. When not working, Dr. Allen spends as much time as possible at the lake with his family and his four-legged kids. He also loves driving fast cars and flying radio-controlled airplanes.

Brittni

Licensed Technician

Brittni is originally from Lexington, SC. After high school, Brittni moved on to attend the Veterinary Technology program at Tri-county Technical College in Pendleton, SC. Brittni graduated with an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Tri-County Tech in May of 2005. She successfully passed her VTNE in June of the same year and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of South Carolina in 2005. After graduation, Brittni began working in specialty medicine. Since 2005, she has worked as a surgery technician, mobile ultrasound technician and in training and development. In 2018 Brittni became Fear Free Level 1 Certified and RECOVER BLS and ALS Instructor certified in 2019. Outside of work, Brittni loves spending time with her husband and two boys, as well as riding her horses and camping.

Savannah

Licensed Technician

Savannah is from Williamston, SC. Following high school, she studied at Presbyterian College where she was a member of the NCAA Division 1 Blue Hose Cheer team. She then studied at Tri-County Technical College and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science through the Vet Tech program in May, 2017. Savannah went on to pass her VTNE and State Board Exam to become a licensed Vet Tech in SC. She has worked in small animal medicine and anesthesia for 7 years. Savannah is also FearFree and PennHIP certified. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her husband, Chase and two dogs; Waylon and Kota. Savannah is passionate about helping animals feel better with the education she has obtained.

Carlin

Licensed Technician

Carlin is originally from Thomson, GA, but she attended Clemson University and settled in Easley, SC. Carlin graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Science from Clemson University in 2000. After graduation, Carlin worked as a veterinary assistant in general practice until 2004. In 2004, she attended Tri-County Technical College and earned her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in May of 2006. She successfully passed her VTNE in June of the same year and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of South Carolina in 2006. Carlin started as a surgery technician in specialty medicine in 2005. In 2019, Carlin became a certified instructor in RECOVER BLS and ALS.

Amy

Veterinary Assistant

Amy has been in veterinary medicine for 20 years. She was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee and moved to Greenville 12 years ago with her husband and 2 sons. In May of 2024, she graduated from Purdue University with an associate degree in veterinary nursing. Amy worked at UpstateVet from 2017 to 2023 working in internal medicine and dentistry, but found her passion as a surgery assistant. In her off time, she enjoys working out and running in local 5 and 10k races. Amy loves to travel and see new places with her husband. On the weekends, they can be found exploring the countryside on their Harleys. Amy has 4 dogs, 3 cats and an Umbrella Cockatoo, so basically a zoo!
